The engineering concept of a filtration plant reaches from chemical treatment of the slurry to the filtration by the filter press up to the handling of the filter cake. If required the filter cake could be treated i.e. by drying to reduce the final moisture content. The individual task of an application determinates the processing. Is the filter cake destined for further use or is the result of the filtrate important? Are basically both, the filter cake and the filtrate important for further processing or are they waste? Numbers of significant details have to be analysed until an economical solution can be presented.
